Colusa County Democratic Central Committee's Activism

The CCDCC is committed to supporting the Democratic Platform. This committee is creating a space for Democrats to fellowship with each other and become actively involved in the political process. Committee members wrote postcards, canvassed neighborhoods and made phone calls to 'Get Out the Vote' in the November 2018 election. Committee members have also picketed and marched in support of Democratic ideals and the Democratic Platform.

Core Beliefs

image34

Colusa County Democratic Central Committee believes that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. The Democratic party is focused on building an economy that lifts up all Americans, not just those on the top.

We are working to make progress on issues like job creation, equal pay, education, healthcare and clean energy.

Democratic Party Platform

image35

Every four years, the Democratic Party puts together our party platform, the ideas and beliefs that govern our party as a whole.

What follows is the 2016 platform — the most progressive platform in our party’s history and a declaration of how we plan to move America forward. Democrats believe that cooperation is better than conflict, unity is better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better than walls.

This party platform was voted on and passed by party membership at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in 2016. The platform will be updated and re-approved at the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

You can read the 48 page Democratic Party Platform document here.

California Democratic Party 2020 Delegate Selection Affirmative Action Plan

The right to vote has not always been extended equally to all Americans. In recognition of past discriminatory denial of voting rights, and in order to encourage full participation by all Democrats in the delegate selection process and in all Party affairs, the California Democratic party (CADEM) shall adopt and implement affirmative action programs. These programs will have specific goals and timetables for African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, women, LBGT, Disabled, and Youth in its affirmative action plan.

The goals and time table are included in the link below; click on the blue box.
